About Us

THE FRIENDS OF THE PARKS IN AVON LAKE INC is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing parks, playgrounds, recreational spaces, and community experiences throughout Avon Lake, Ohio.

The organization was originally established in 1993 to help raise funds and community support for the original Avon Lake Play Space (ALPS). Since its creation, Friends of the Parks has continued to support projects and initiatives that strengthen Avon Lake’s parks and recreational resources for residents of all ages.

Our mission is to assist, organize, promote, and help maintain recreational facilities and community spaces throughout Avon Lake, including playgrounds, walking and biking trails, educational and recreational opportunities, beautification projects, and other park-related improvements.

Friends of the Parks also supports community events, sponsorship opportunities, and donor-supported initiatives that help enhance public spaces and recreational experiences across the city.

Through partnerships, fundraising, sponsorships, and community involvement, Friends of the Parks continues to invest in the places that bring Avon Lake residents together.
